Jake Taylor
President
Jake Taylor is the President and Owner of Richie Construction, a Central Ohio remodeling and construction company that has served homeowners and businesses throughout the Columbus area for more than 45 years. With a background in engineering, project management, and residential construction, Jake specializes in helping homeowners successfully navigate renovations, additions, and remodeling projects while maintaining clear communication every step of the way.
Expertise in Older Homes, Additions, & Renovations
Jake's primary expertise lies in renovating and expanding older homes throughout Central Ohio, particularly in communities such as Bexley, Upper Arlington, Westerville, and surrounding neighborhoods. He specializes in home additions, kitchen remodels, bathroom renovations, whole-home remodels, and custom residential construction while preserving the character of older homes and bringing them up to modern standards and building codes.
Education & Professional Background
Jake earned both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Dayton. He later earned his MBA from Ohio Dominican University. Before joining Richie Construction in 2022, Jake worked as a Mechanical Engineer managing large-scale healthcare and higher education construction projects throughout Ohio. His responsibilities included project management, scheduling, budgeting, billing, client communication, and subcontractor coordination.

Jake is an active member of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) Central Ohio chapter, demonstrating his commitment to professionalism, continuing education, and industry best practices.
Notable Projects & Experience
Richie Construction has completed projects throughout Central Ohio, including Parade of Homes residences, commercial buildings, restaurants, funeral homes, kitchen remodels, bathroom renovations, home additions, and whole-home renovations. One project Jake is especially proud of involved taking over and correcting a renovation after a contractor abandoned the project, bringing the work up to code and delivering the result the homeowner originally expected.
A Client-First Approach
Jake believes that communication is one of the most important parts of a successful construction project. As a hands-on owner, he works directly with clients throughout the process. Richie Construction also offers time-and-material project options for homeowners facing unknown conditions commonly found in older homes, providing flexibility and transparency throughout construction.
Beyond Construction
When he's not managing projects, Jake enjoys spending time with his wife and their three children, all under the age of eight. He plays hockey, enjoys family activities, and proudly considers himself the world's biggest Star Wars fan.

While Fred Ritchey is semi-retired, his passion for the craft still burns bright. He remains involved in the company, bringing a wealth of knowledge and a keen eye for detail. His presence ensures that the core values of Ritchey Construction, synonymous with excellence and integrity, continue to thrive in every endeavor.
Pat Brady
Superintendent
Introducing Pat Brady, the hands-on and seasoned superintendent at the helm of Ritchey Construction. With a wealth of experience in residential construction, Pat is the driving force behind the successful execution of our projects, ensuring a seamless blend of leadership and applied craftsmanship. Pat has been with Ritchey Construction since 1996.
Pat’s journey in construction has been marked by a passion for excellence and a commitment to delivering top-notch results. As the superintendent, he leads from the front, overseeing and coordinating all aspects of our construction projects. His expertise lies not only in the management of teams but also in the physical execution of the work itself.
What sets Pat apart is his dedication to being directly involved in the construction process. Beyond the responsibilities of leadership, he rolls up his sleeves and actively participates in the physical work on-site. This unique hands-on approach ensures that every project benefits from his wealth of experience and meticulous attention to detail.
Jackie Jones
Office Manager
Meet Jackie Jones, the indispensable backbone of Ritchey Construction, serving as the secretary and office manager. With her keen organizational skills and dedication to excellence, Jackie is an integral part of every facet of our residential construction projects.
Since joining Ritchey Construction in 2005, Jackie has played a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of our office. Her responsibilities extend across the spectrum of project management, from developing detailed proposals to confirming selections with clients, and handling billing with meticulous attention to detail.
